DJ Mishek
Michal attended violin lessons at high school, but only to realise that violin was not the way to go for him. In his teenage years, he tried to play the keyboard and the drums, that attracted him the most, unfortunately resulting only in a few loud „garage“ sessions. He discovered dance music sometime around 1991 and remains faithfull to it till these days. In 1998 Michal started playing music as a DJ.
In the beginning focusing especially on house music. However, since then he has switched to various different kinds of music, recently moving somewhere between nu-jazz, funk, broken-beat, house and reaggae as well as 60’ and 70’ rare grooves.

He has performed at more than 400 events in Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland, playing alongside with DJs like Jori Hulkonnen, Rainer Trüby, Halo & Hippe, DJ Buck, Eddie Amador, Ian Pooley, Madrid de Los Austrias, Tom Wieland (Les Gammas) and Nuspirit Helsinki DJs. He played in more than 11 radio shows and in more than 70 clubs including the most reputable locations Mecca in Prague, U club, Subclub, Spojka (no longer existing) and NuSpirit Bar (ex-Buddha Bar) in Bratislava and Vyagra in Kosice. Michal participated in a number of music festivals including the exclusive international event Disco TV and Slovakia’s most appreciated Pohoda and Hodokvas festivals. He also appeared as a guest at the Warsaw’s Wislostrade and Zblyzenia festival in the town of Plonck in Poland. Last but not least, he co-operated in a few non-dancing projects, creating music background for several art previews and exhibitions. His music backgroung for Charlie Chaplin’s silent movie Gold Fever was also highly appreciated. Michal occasionaly co-operates with the „Cocodrilz“ band, which appeared in the European MTV.

Since 2004, he has been acting as a speaker and programme chief of the „Extaza“ radio show focused on underground and electronic dance music. Michal describes his DJ style as „retro-funky-heavymetal-country-fusion“ which nevertheless forms a consistent unit reflecting not only his personal feelings but also the feelings of his audience in any club. His music archive of more than thousand vinyl records of various styles enables him to make an outstanding and breath-taking DJ performance.
